It is will great sadness that Smokin’ Willie’s BBQ sauces & spice rubs will not be at the Fiery Foods & BBQ Show this year. Due to the economic times we are all experiencing it is not feasible for us to travel to the Fiery Foods & BBQ Show from Los Angeles this year. Smokin Willie’s has been at this show for the last five years and is our favorite show to attend. We will miss all of our friends (both the vendors and the public) that we have made over the years. We will do everything in our power to be there in 2011!
You can order Smokin’ Willie’s BBQ sauces & spice rubs on our web site www.smokinwillies.com. Please let me know of any stores in your area that I should try to get Smokin’ Willie’s in to.
A whole hearted Thank You to all of the fans of Smokin’ Willie’s!
With Gratitude,
Bill Kelley

In these tough times, with the economy affecting almost everyone, more people are eating at home and there is no better way to save money and eat like a King or Queen than grillin’ at home on your BBQ! Bring your family and friends together because everyone loves a good “Q”. Another added benefit is that food always tastes, looks and smells better when eating outside, “alfresco”.
Money saving ideas:
Save energy and keep you house cooler by grilling outside during the hot days of summer.
You can make a cheaper cut of meat taste better and will be more tender if you grill it on the BBQ.
With Smokin’ Willie’s three flavors of BBQ sauce you can grill the same meat, for an example chicken, and you can have three different tasting meals.
I will buy meats on sale, apply my spice rub and freeze any meat that I am not going to use right away. I can thaw the meat in the refrigerator overnight and it will be ready for the grill, the prep work is already done. This saves time and money!
Eating at home saves money compared to eating out in restaurants and it is a lot more fun.
Use Smokin’ Willie’s BBQ sauces and spice rubs to add award-winning flavor to you BBQ. If you want help with your BBQ or you want some amazing recipes for the grill, get Smokin’ Willie’s Guide to Great Grillin’ cookbook anyone can become a Grill Master!

I am asked quite often if I think gas or charcoal BBQ’s are better. I like both and each have there benefits. Having personally used charcoal since 1978, I’m more comfortable grillin’ with charcoal. The main reason that I prefer using a charcoal BBQ is the flavor that you get grillin’ over coals. The down side is that you have to wait 20 to 25 minutes for the coals to be ready and you have to empty the ashes. During the time that I am waiting for the charcoal to be ready I am preparing everything for the grill, so the waiting is part of my system.
Gas
BBQ’s are great and 75% or more of the
BBQ’s out there are gas. You only need five to ten minutes to heat up a gas grill and no ashes to throw out. It is easier for some people to control the temperature of the grill. I like to add different types of wood chips (hickory, pecan, etc.) soaked in water for about a half-hour to the
BBQ just before you start to grill to enhance the flavor of what you are grillin’. The smell of the wood chips smoldering will activate your salivary glands. Always check your propane; it sucks to run out while you are in the middle of grillin’ your dinner. Be sure to check the hoses that connect the tank to the grill. If you see any wear, replace the connections and hose, a propane gas leak is extremely dangerous.
For both types of
BBQ’s, I clean the grates as soon as I am through grillin, while I let the meat rest in the kitchen. This way you are ready for the next time you
BBQ and your grates stay clean.
